I wish to share my recent insights into ways to break out of the stranglehold that our love for money has gotten us into. The banks, speculative corporations, and government play on our greed to suck the life out of us. If we would recognize the myths that we have accepted as truth, the way becomes clear.
1) You have to have a checking account. The truth is, you don't have to use a checking account, and if you do, you can use it selectively. You don't have to hand over your paycheck to an institution that makes things harder on you by their financial practices.
2) You have to have a lot of money to prosper. The truth is, a lot of people barter for all or part of the goods they need. examples; cornbread for fresh corn, clothes for canned goods, cars for tractors, salon services for child's party catering. I believe this method of trading will save us if the big crash comes as predicted.
3) You have to spend a lot of money to build a house. The truth is, people are building alternative housing dirt cheap. The internet is full of ideas. These are also more environmentally friendly in most cases and some cost little or nothing to heat/cool.
4) We have to have luxuries to be happy. The truth is that people who have broken out of the stranglehold of debt, excessive fines, etc., experience an immediate feeling of exhileration as soon as they take the first steps toward financial freedom.
5) You have to work at a tedious job for long hours to earn a livelihood. The truth is, once you break loose from the financial stranglehold, you aren't as tied to a 9 to five job. Realistically, a person has to consider family needs and come to agreement with their life partner, but after looking into the benefits of independent and creative wholistic living, many people have plunged in without ever looking back.
We have become zombies, enslaved in a society that has been taken over by selfish and greedy opportunist. I'm for opting out of their corrupt system and letting them drown in the mire of their waste.
I's your life. Don't let other people control how you live it.
