I have a wish that I wish every morning when I get up, and every night before I go to sleep. I used to be a person who was rich. I used to be a person who thought money would make me happy. I used to be a person who blamed others for my own shortcomings. I used to be a person who felt the world was against her. I used to be selfish and greedy. I used to lie and cheat and hurt other people with harsh words and anger. I awoke one morning to find myself alone at the age of 30. I became angry that nobody loved me or even liked me. Then I pitied myself for awhile, then I began to drink. That turned into drugs and reckless self destructive behaviour. Then I went through a roadblock one night and because the police officer did not allow me to pass but humiliated me by giving me a breathalyser I threw a temper tantrum so HUGE that I assaulted the officer and got handcuffed and put in the patrol car. I kicked out the window of the police car with my rage I was taken to the jailhouse where I assaulted another officer who was removing my shoes. I then underwent a terror that I had always feared. I was not only locked inside a cell (I am claustrophobic) but I was strapped face down to a restraining board so I could not move at all. My terror was so great because I was being forced to face my worst fear. I did not die. I screamed myself out within 6 hours, and cried myself to sleep in 10, when I awoke I was let up off the board and taken for a mental examination at the hospital. The psychiatrists did many many tests. They called my PARENTS to come and get me. When the psychiatrist gave me the results, he said What are your fears? I looked at him and laughed and laughed. I had conquered my worst fear the previous night. I was afraid of nothing any more. It was at that moment the epiphany struck, I had spent 30 years afraid. Afraid of being poor, afraid of not being beautiful, afraid of getting fat, afraid of my parents opinion. Afraid of everything.

I left the hospital because the psychiatrist said the tests had shown I was completely stable and functuioning, but that I was very anxious and stressed that's all. I wasn't afraid of the ride home with my Parents, I wasn't afraid of the dark at night anymore, I wasn't afraid of what other's thought of me, I was FREE.

That was eight years ago now. Since then I have married a wonderful man, had two beautiful daughters, and creatred a home business that Brings me great satisfaction and JOY. We are quite poor and money is tight. I don't mind. We do not get the extra things people are always wishing for to fill the other holes in their lives. I don't need them because I am FREE.

So here is my wish. I wish that every single person who feels need and wishes wishes wishes for something can find the freedom that I found, the happiness I have and the Love that we all deserve. I wish you all inner peace, self-love, and most of all I wish you Laughter, smiles and a heart that is full to bursting with joy.

We are actually chained down by certain issues or feelings from our wish past or present. Let's walk through the process of shining the "flashlight" deep wish down inside yourself so you can begin to change. After all, how can you fix something if you don't even know what you're trying to fix? It's impossible. We need to know exactly what wish is weighing us down so we can shake it loose. You may already know the identity of most of those wish weights, sometimes it’s easy to figure out and sometimes not. I’ve experienced this myself, even when I know this is definitely what I want to do it’s the smartest choice, it will be good for me somehow I can end up stuck and either not getting there or taking longer than I could have.

The fact that most of this is going on in the subconscious mind explains why these wishes feelings and belief systems are so mysterious to us, so often we just can’t figure out why we think/feel/behave the way we do! Consciously we know what we should wish and do, or we may truly feel like we want to wish and do something - but underneath all of that, the subconscious mind runs the old wishes.

Anyway, back to the wish test list. Now that I've identified the negative emotion driving my wish resistance, it's important to fully welcome that feeling and allow it to be there, to not run from it. The only way to dissolve negative wish feelings, especially fear, is to become aware of them in a non-threatening way. Sometimes this action alone is enough to melt these negative thoughts and emotions, especially when the allowing them to surface momentarily in a therapeutic way becomes a habit. Further work is done by asking myself if I could possibly let go of that feeling. Would I rather be stuck with it or be free of it? If I'd rather be free of it, then I ask myself if I could let it go right now. Fascinatingly , as easily as you can let go of an wish you're gripping in your hand, you can learn to let go of emotions that you are gripping such as fear, resistance, etc.

You can see for yourself that this is a true fact - just pick up a small object such as a pen and grip it tightly in your hand. The pen represents your negative and uncomfortable wish feelings. The hand represents your awareness, your inner self. Now tighten your grip on the pen. Is the pen attached to you? Of course not. So then, could you let it go? Try just let it go so it falls to the floor. Were you able to do it? Here's the point of the demonstration: our emotions are not attached to us, though they sometimes feel so much a part of us that they seem attached. Don't we say I am so angry or I am so scared to make wish? In reality we feel angry or feel scared we are not that emotion. Sometimes a long-standing emotion seems so stuck to us that we couldn't possibly be free of it. BUT that is not true. Do you know what a definition of emotion is? Energy in motion. That's it. Nothing else. Energy in motion is not attached to anything because it's in motion. And anything that isn't attached can be let go of, right?! So in reality we have the power to let go of any emotion, especially when it comes to resistance to doing what we know is right and what we want to do deep down. I keep working on all of this stuff until I feel either a sense of I CAN do this! and/or a feeling of wish.

Next I make a wish list. I read the wish list again and think of an action I can take to achieve the wish. I notice the very first feeling I have about that specific action step, and write down what negative emotion is driving each negative feeling. (Once again, if I'm having trouble identifying the emotion, repeating the statement more loudly until something from my past pops up and then doing the allowing and letting go process works very well to dissolve negative feelings and resistance.) I do this on each action step until I get a feeling of I CAN or of peace and until I run out of wish actions.

Last but not least I then visualize my wish. What will it be like when I have reached this wish? I actually imagine myself living those wishes, making a movie in my head painting as vivid a picture as I can of it by engaging all my senses in the visualization. What's my life like? What am I wish? What am I doing? What's different from the way it is now? Then I write all of that down on paper.

Things always clarify by doing this wish test, and I'm often shocked at what I discover is the bottom line reason I haven't been able to wish and do what I want to wish anddo! I can almost guarantee you'll discover the same surprises.

If you could take a wonder wish and have it do ANYTHING, what would you want it to do? Quick - what's the very first thing that pops into your mind? Some people have answered this question with "lose weight" or "make me have more money" or "give me a perfect marriage" and so on. My answer to that question was "to grant me a calmer spirit and better insight into myself and others." Well, tens of thousands of people like myself have found this "wonder wish" of sorts ... and so can you.
